Transportation to Airport from Riyadh City Center

King Khalid Intl. Airport

King Khalid International Airport (RUH) is well-connected to Riyadh city center through several transportation options, including taxis, transfer services, and rental cars. The airport is located about 35 kilometers from city center and for those driving their own vehicles, the airport provides parking facilities for both short- and long-term use.

Taxi

Taxis are one of the fastest and most convenient ways to reach King Khalid International Airport as typically takes 25-30 minutes to reach, depending on traffic conditions. They are widely available across Riyadh, and ride-hailing apps like Uber and Careem offer an additional option. Fares range depending on the pickup point and traffic.

Bus Services

Public buses connect the airport to various parts of Riyadh, including the city center. They typically operate during daytime hours, but schedules and routes should be confirmed at the airport information desk. Look for clearly marked bus stops at the arrivals area.

Metro

Riyadh metro system consists of six lines, connecting 85 stations. Line 4, or also known as the Yellow Line, runs from King Khalid International Airport to the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD). Passengers opting for public transportation can use the metro, as it is available at the airport exits, and tickets can be obtained from machines at the station.

Hotel Shuttles

Many hotels in Riyadh provide transfer services to King Khalid International Airport. These services are convenient, reliable, and often affordable or free of charge, depending on your booking type. Travelers must confirm availability and costs with their hotel during booking. Hotel transfers are ideal for those who prefer a pre-arranged mode of transportation.

Rental Car

For those who prefer to drive themselves, renting a car is a flexible and comfortable alternative. Car rental offices are located throughout Riyadh, offering a variety of vehicles with or without a driver. The journey to the airport takes about 25–30 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. You can get to the city center from Salt Lake City International Airport by taxi or shuttles, or you can rent a car and thus have a comfortable vehicle during your entire trip. If you prefer using means of public transportation, it is also possible to get to the city center by bus or tram.  

Taxi

There is a taxi stop just at the exit of the baggage claim area and the taxis offer their passengers to arrive in the city center in less than 15 minutes.

Shuttle

There are different companies at the airport offering shuttle service with a variety of vehicles. You can get detailed information from the shuttle service information desk at the arrival terminal of the airport. You are expected to pay a fare of around 25 – 30 dollars. 5 dollar extra is charged per person if the number of the passengers exceeds three.

Car Rental

10 different car rental companies have their offices at the ground floor of the car park of the airport. With the car you rent, you can reach the city center via I-80 E or W 400 S highways. The journey lasts about 12 – 15 minutes.

Bus

You can easily access the bus stops by using the exit located in front of the baggage claim line number 8. It is possible to reach the city center in a short time like 15 minutes with bus line 453. The buses serve only during the week and one way ticket costs 2,50 dollar.

Tram

You can reach the city center by taking the green tram line from the stop located at the southern exit of the terminal 1. Tram line operates between 05:47 – 23:27 during the weekdays; between 06:36 – 23:16 on Saturdays; and between 06:20 – 22:20 on Sundays. The intervals of the trams are 15 minutes during the weekdays and 20 minutes during the weekends. Single one-way ticket is 2,50 dollar.
