About Bacolod

Bacolod, the capital of Philippines Negros Occidental province and the second most populous city, has a population of about 512 thousand people. The city is built on a total of 16,145 hectares of land, including 125 hectares of reclamation area with straits and water masses. With the third fastest growing economy in the Philippines, Bacolod also has agricultural land to harvest sugarcane, rice, corn, coconut and banana.

The places to be seen in the city are The Mamkubal Mountain Resort, Laguerta Home of the Vintage Glasses Museum, the Negros Forests and Ecological Foundation Biodeversity Conservation Center, Dizon- Ramos Museum, San Sebestian Cathedral and North Negros National Park. In addition, Bacolod-Silay International Airport is located 15 kilometers north-east of the city.
