About Bejaia

Becye city in the Democratic People's Republic of Algeria is the largest country in North Africa, with a population of about 910,000. The city, where the majority of the Arabs and Berbers are, can be seen as if it were viewed from Yemma Gouraya Mountain. Other natural areas are Aiguades Beach and Monkey Hill. These natural formations can be visited in Gouraya National Park. The city, which was ruled by different civilizations like Romans, Byzantines, Arabs and Ottoman Turks in its history, also holds the remains of each one. A Mediterranean climate in the north and a desert climate exists in the south of the region. In the city, the summers are hot and dry, and the winters are mild and rainy. Plains and highlands passing through the mountains, which are very close to the coast, give the region a very green appearance. Becaya, the main oil port of Algeria, is rich in oil, as well as iron, phosphate, wine, dried figs, and plums.
