About Buffalo

Located in Western New York, Buffalo is a modern industrial and port city. Buffalo is situated on the east coast of Lake Erie and across from Ontario, Canada; the city is the administrative center of Erie County and quite close to Niagara Falls. There are many places to visit in Buffalo including the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, the Buffalo and Erie county Botanical Garden, the Buffalo Zoo, Buffalo Museum of Science, North Park Theatre, and Squaw Island (also known as Unity Island). The most important sectors of the economy in Buffalo are education and healthcare. Of course the most important site to see when visiting Buffalo is the grand and beautiful Niagara Falls. Niagara Falls is made up of 3 large waterfalls, Horseshoe Falls, American Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls, and is located between the US and Canadian borders, about 30-minutes from the city center.

There are boat tours of the waterfall that are very enjoyable. Another place in Buffalo with spectacular natural beauty is Lake Erie. Lake Erie is one of North America’s five Great Lakes and like the other four lakes it creates lake effect snow. Lake Erie is also one of the main access points to one of North America’s largest industrial centers. Watersports and commercial fishing are also very popular on the lake.

You can reach the city center easily by getting on the metro route 204 from the metro station located outside the airport arrivals terminal. This route departs every 30 minutes on weekdays and the travel lasts about 30 minutes. One-way ticket price is 2.50 dollars.

Metrobus

It is possible to reach the city center in about 43 minutes under normal traffic conditions by using the metrobus route 24. One-way ticket price is only 2 dollars.

Hotel Shuttle

There are many hotels around the airport and they offer airport shuttle service for their guests. While some hotels offer this service for free, others can demand a certain amount for this service.
