The name of the city Fergana, with its nickname Ancient City” comes from the word “Farghaneh”, which is Persian and means “various”. The population of Fergana, which is the industrial center of Uzbekistan, is over 340,000. Fergana International airport is located in Fergana, the capital city of Fergana Region of Uzbekistan, and it is also the main airport of this region. Yakutia (Krasnodar), VIM Airlines (Moscow-Domodedovo), Uzbekistan Airways (Kazan, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tashkent, Yekaterinburg), UTair Aviation (Moscow-Vnukovo) and S7 Airlines (Novosibirsk) organize direct flights to Fergana International Airport. The airport is located approximately 420 kilometers away from Tashkent and lies 75 kilometers southwest of the city Andijan.
Getting to the City Center from Fergana Intl. Airport
Once you’ve landed in Fergana Airport then you can choose from a number of transport options to get to the city center, which is 5 km away. You can take a taxi, rent a car, use a transfer service, or take a bus or minibus if you prefer public transport. It takes around 10 minutes to go to Fergana city center from the airport depending on which option you choose. Once you leave arrivals at Fergana Airport you’ll come face to face with the bus and minibus stops. Bus lines 3 and 4 depart from in front of the terminal and travel along M Kasimov to reach the market in the city center. Minibus line 22 also takes you directly to the city center from the airport. You can take on of the taxis from outside arrivals at Fergana Airport and be at the city center in just 6-7 minutes. Most of the taxis at the airport will offer a fixed price that’s usually between 150-180 Russian Rubles. You can get to the city center quickly and comfortably by renting a car. Getting to Fergana Intl. Airport from the City Center
It’s really easy to get from the city center to Fergana Airport by taking the bus or minibus. You can also take a taxi or rent a car. Another option is to use a shuttle service that’s provided by your hotel. It takes an average of 8-10 minutes to get to Fergana Airport from the inner city.
Bus and Minibus
To use the bus or the minibus to get to Fergana Airport you need to purchase a ticket from one of the kiosks and wait at designation stops. You should take the bus line 3 or 4 from the city center. These buses run along M Kasimov and one of their first stops is by the market at Fergana city center. You can also take the minibus line 22 that leave for Fergana Airport frequently from the city center.
