About Floro
Located in the west of Norway, Floro is one of the smallest settlements in the country with a population of about 12 thousand people. The commercial life of the region is usually based on fishing and shipbuilding. In addition, gas and oil extracted from the North Sea increase the mobility of the region. The air in Floro, located on the northwest coast of the country, is usually chilly year round. Although the temperate climate caused by the sea effect softens air, especially the winter months are quite cold.
Although there is not much to see and do in Floro, the Floro Church, which was built in 1882 reflecting the architectural characteristics of the region, is worth seeing. In the small town center there are a few small stores where you can shop and restaurants serving mainly seafood-based menus. There are also many islands that attract attention with its unique natural beauties around Floro. Reksta, Skorpa, Hodven and Kinn are some leading examples of these. The Kinn Island, which is especially known for its historic church, is worth seeing. In addition, the Coastal Museum, which presents the maritime life of the region from past to present, is among the alternatives to be seen.
