About Gokova

Gökova is a touristic seaside town in Turkey's Aegean Region, well-known in the country for its natural beauty. Although it has only about 2500 inhabitants, it becomes particularly crowded in the summer because of its proximity to the Gulf of Gökova.

A Mediterranean climate prevails in Gökova. As it lies on the coast, winters are mild and rainy, and summers hot. Because of the fertile and habitable land, it has been home to many states and civilizations. It is known that the first settlement dates back to the years 2600 B.C. The tunnel formed by eucalyptus trees, the spectacular coves along the Gulf of Gökova, and the nearby touristic town of Akyaka are among the beauties the area has to offer. Thanks to its nature, it is the ideal place for those in search of peace. Places to see include the Gökova Plain, Aquarium, Sedir (Cedar) Island, and the famous Gökova houses. Sailing clubs are active here in the summer.

Gökova is reached by air via the Dalaman Airport. As it lies in the vicinity of other touristic areas road transport options, such as buses and shuttles, to and from the airport and around the area are plentiful.
