The town of Strausberg in the region of Brandenburg of Germany is located 30 kilometers east of Berlin. Strausberg, which is the largest town in the district of Markisch-Oderlang, has a population of about 25,000 people. The municipalities surrounding the town located 30 kilometers west of Kostrzyn on the Polish border are Altlansberg, Oberbarnim, Buckow, Garzau-Garzin, Rehelde, Rüdersdorf and Petershagen-Eggersdorf. Straussee, which is the largest lake of the town, is located between the town and Strausberg Forest. The town is also rich in forestlands and wetlands.
